About Me

I’m a lifelong endurance athlete, triathlon coach, and Swim England Level 2 Swimming Coach, with over a decade of experience across triathlon and open-water performance. My racing background spans sub-5 hour 70.3 events, multiple Ironman finishes including Lanzarote and Zurich, and qualification for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships (St George, Utah 2022). I’ve also raced a hilly half marathon in 1:28, reinforcing my belief in efficient, intelligent training. I’ve lived both sides of endurance sport — peak performance and the consequences of overtraining. Being forced to withdraw from Ironman Mallorca (2016) and Copenhagen (2017) fundamentally shaped how I coach today. It gave me a deep respect for recovery, load management, and long-term athlete development, not just chasing watts, pace, or distance. Alongside triathlon coaching, my Swim England qualification makes me ideally placed to support adult swimmers, triathletes, and athletes rebuilding or upgrading their swim technique. Whether you’re learning to swim efficiently, returning after a break, or aiming to unlock free speed in the water, my coaching is technically sound, practical, and tailored to real-world athletes. I’m particularly well suited to beginners, time-pressed athletes, and those stepping up from sprint or Olympic distance into 70.3 or Ironman, who want sustainable progress without compromising health, work, or family life.

Philosophy

My coaching is built on balance, consistency, and longevity. Real performance doesn’t come from doing more — it comes from doing the right work at the right time. I take an athlete-led approach, designing training around your life rather than forcing your life around a plan. Recovery and rest are treated with the same importance as pool sessions, long rides, and key runs. Strength training plays a central role, improving movement quality, resilience, and efficiency across all three disciplines. I believe strongly in quality over quantity. While volume matters in endurance racing, every session must have purpose. Weekly communication ensures training stress supports performance goals rather than spilling into the rest of your life. Because the best results come when training is enjoyable, sustainable, and repeatable — and that’s where long-term progress is built.
